our vision

Empowering women for Life

Light House Station is a stop in life’s journey to direct, empower, and equip through the guiding light of Christ. The mission of Light House Station is to provide Christ-centered homes to minister to the spiritual, physical, educational, and emotional needs of pregnant and post-partum single women by supporting, training, and equipping them with necessary life skills for competent living.
"You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father."
Matthew 5:14-16

How Does it Work?

Women can reach out themselves or be referred by a pregnancy center, church, individual, or other agency by calling 585.237.8644.

Short-term Residence

Women can come to Light House Station at any time in their pregnancy and stay in the home for up to 6 months following the birth of the baby. Light House Station also accepts post-partum women with infants under a month old.

While in residence, women will participate in counseling, education, Bible study, household chores, community living, practical classes such as parenting, job skills and budgeting.

Initial Interviews

Initial interviews will be conducted off-site to review expectations and application process.

Women will have the opportunity to learn crafts and life skills such as gardening, cooking and art.  Individual service plans help residents set goals in areas of legal, financial, interpersonal, spiritual, educational and independent living.

Assisted Transition

Light House Station will assist the resident in transition out of the home by providing planning help, material support, agency referrals, and on-going counseling resources.

Anna & Alex Nobles
House Parents
Alex and Anna met in a college ministry when Anna made Alex the single greatest pancake he has ever eaten. They have now been married for 4 years, have 2 cute children, and still enjoy eating pancakes together. They both love running, reading, pretending they can sing, and playing the “I’m pretty sure I changed the last poopy diaper so it’s your turn” game. They have been praying for a ministry opportunity that they can step into as a family and are excited to see God answering that prayer through the Light House Station. Their family verse is Philippians 2:14-15
"Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.
